About Here to Celebrate
Here to Celebrate makes the family Secret Santa easy to run. You add everyone, we send the links, and names are drawn in secret, so the organizer gets to join in too.
Why we made it
Somebody always ends up running the gift exchange: collecting names, chasing budgets, remembering who can't draw their partner, and keeping it all a secret. In a lot of families there's a kids' exchange next to the adults' one, and kids don't have email addresses. We built Here to Celebrate so that job takes one evening instead of forty text messages.
How it works
- Start an exchange with a name, a date and a budget, then add everyone taking part.
- Everyone with an email gets their own link. They join, and add a wishlist or ask to be surprised. No passwords or app to download.
- Draw names. Each person sees only who they're buying for. The organizer can't see who drew whom, apart from anyone they're looking after.
What makes it different
- The organizer can play too. The organizer never sees anyone else's match, only their own and those of anyone they look after.
- Everyone can join, even people without an email address. A parent or another relative can look after someone's place and write their wishlist for them.
- No doubled-up gifts. Everyone in the exchange can see the wishlists, and can quietly mark an item as taken. The person who asked for it never sees that.
- Plans change. If someone drops out after names are drawn, usually only one person's match changes, and nobody has to start over.
- “Don't draw” rules for partners, or anyone who shouldn't buy for each other.
